Dr. Medb Ruane – Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist

Experience and Training
Medb is a clinician and supervisory analyst. She works with individuals and couples who have their own symptoms including trauma, depression, loneliness, work-related stresses, stuckness, creative inhibitions, anxieties, as well as mothering, fathering and family issues.
She has served on the Mental Health Tribunals for ten years, working in approved centres in Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Louth and Laois. She has lectured at postgraduate level and been a trainer and facilitator on APPI’s Programme of Formation, Programme for Continuing Studies and Laboratoire and develops her ongoing formation through ICLO/NLS, APPI and other agencies.
She has edited, written and translated for Lacunae, International Journal for Lacanian Psychoanalysis. She has also published and broadcast for various media on politics, culture and people. Her researches have been funded by the Irish Research Council, GREP (UCD), DBS and the Arts Council.
Medb is a registered practitioner member of The Association for Psychoanalysis & Psychotherapy in Ireland (APPI) and the Psychologists Protection Society (PPS).
