Experience and Training
Dermot comes from a background in social work and social care for over 25 years. He completed his MSc in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at St Vincent’s Hospital in 2000 and has subsequently lectured and provided supervision to students on the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Masters programmes at St Vincent’s and DBS.
ermot has worked in adult mental health social work for most of his career and has a broad range of clinical experience in individual, group, couple and family work. His private practice is psychoanalytic and is informed by his ongoing research in the field through his membership of two psychoanalytic work groups as well as his membership of ISLP (Irish School for Lacanian Psychoanalysis).
Dermot is a registered social worker with CORU, the Health and Social Professions Council in Ireland. He is a member of ISLP, the Irish School for Lacanian Psychoanalysis.
