Experience and Training
As a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, Claire’s clinical experience encompasses many years working in a mental health setting and private practice dealing with a broad range of symptoms including, but not limited to, stress, anxiety, depression, self-harm, bi-polar disorder, addiction and border-line states – to name just some of the presenting issues. Claire completed a B.A. in Psychology in UCD and continued her studies with a Post-Graduate Higher Diploma in Psychoanalytic Studies in Dublin Business School (DBS). Following this, she completed an M.A. in Clinical Psychoanalysis.
Claire’s commitment to continuing professional development is reflected in her own on-going formation. She has also acted as Co-Ordinator and Facilitator on APPI’s “Programme of Formation” at post-Master’s level. She supervises and supports trainees on the Masters Programme in Clinical Psychoanalysis.
Claire is a Registered Practitioner Member of APPI (Association of Psychoanalysis & Psychotherapy in Ireland), a member of the Irish Circle of the Lacanian Orientation/New Lacanian School (ICLO-NLS) and of the Euro Federation of Psychoanalysis (EFP). She is a member of the Editorial Board of Lacunae, APPI’s International Journal for Lacanian Psychoanalysis.
